Hello Northern Virginia Trail Dames! I am new to Trail Dames, but definitely feel like I've found a hiking home. I grew up in Vermont on the side of a mountain, so being outside with nature was bred into my bones. I live in Burke, VA, which is about 30 minutes southwest of DC, and we are so fortunate to have lots of outdoors spaces within an hour and a half or less from here. I have two boys, and my youngest recently graduated from high school, and so I am looking forward to spending more weekend time on the trails in place of the soccer fields. I work in federal government contracting, and nothing counteracts sitting in front of a laptop all day like fresh air and moving your legs. In my work life, I champion women in IT - empowering women in whatever they want to do has always been important to me so Trail Dames is a natural fit. I look forward to meeting you on the trails.
